To us, Warsinske’s work was inspiring to look at our surroundings and connect them to the things we do. Warsinske’s Wall Relief was influenced by the current events at the time of its creation in 1962. Today, we have our own current events influencing how we see the world, our work as students, as well as how we think of our future. Wall Relief holds lots of cultural influence related to where inspiration was drawn to create this piece. We wanted to capture Wall Relief in its nocturnal state, to observe the environment at night surrounding the piece, the shadows at night are different than during the day. After seeing Wall Relief at night, you can get a whole new perspective on the piece, a whole new feeling, a feeling of belonging for this piece.
