This is a bit belated but I still wanted to share an interesting book I looked at for my research on Walker Evans.
It is called “Walker Evans at Work: 745 photographs together with documents selected from letters, memoranda, interviews, notes / with an essay by Jerry L. Thompson.” This is located in our library.
I chose this as a source because it discussed not only Evans’s conceptual process but the technical part as well. It was interesting because some of the photographs listed had his quotes and other opinions on those particular photos.
So if anyone was intrigued by our presentation a couple weeks ago and want more in depth about this photographer, I suggest picking up this book first. 🙂
Robbie is a Portlandian Photographer with a really awesome style of shooting. Our lighting studio experiences reminded me of his glamour & headshots collection. Check them out!
p.s. The picture of my brother on page 9 dressed as a pro tennis player is a personal fave. of mine.

Hey guys! So a really good friend of mine recently created his own website with all of his work on it. He shoots portraits, fashion, film…etc. You can view it at:
http://www.theafterhourphoto.com/
His name is Amir Zahed. He is a junior at UW. He’s also into music with two of his other friends. They have a CD and like to shoot music videos. One of their music videos is posted under ‘film’ titled “snow day” so if you’re interested in film production, I would check it out!
If you like his work, you can like it on facebook or twitter..
But yeah, he’s just another student who’s got a deep passion for photography and is gradually growing. I thought this could be inspirational 🙂
