Skateboard photography is what originally got me into photography, and is what I still love to photograph more than anything, as it is one of the couple things I love to do most. So here is a little photo article from Transworld Skateboarding including some good skate photography.
Working in groups, photography students in WWU’s 371 Photo II B&W Photography course created a total of 11 large format headshots. The collaborative, thematic project is an inquiry into the genre of self-portraiture. The students ambitiously took on the task of using themselves as models, working in teams, and researching imagery of contemporary 20th century photographers. Each group worked within a common theme or style to create cohesive yet individual portraits. After careful review and several test prints, students installed their headshots, which can be viewed in the main hallway of the SMATE building on Western’s Campus.
Featured students in “Big Heads” include Kimmiree Bolla, Bailey Carrell, Camille Crocetti, Greg Crooks, Scott Edwards, Angela Gallagher, Kelly Hill, Spencer Isitt, Annmarie Kent, Lincoln Lute, and Dylan Vogel.
