Lytro Light Feild Camera: A New Take on Digital

This neat little camera looks like it could be the Holga of digital, making digital photography accessible to those who are intimidated by the large, super complex cameras of today. I want one of these. Check out the review here, a sample photo gallery here, and the picture above links to the product website.

John Chamberlain

I was looking at upcoming Guggenheim exhibits and found John Chamberlain. His website doesn’t have any images of his sculpture pieces that will be at the Guggenheim but he does have a ton of photography archived on his site. Unfortunately the site is from the 90’s or some archaic time so it can be a little harsh on the eyes.

Chamberlain warps his images in really interesting ways to extend rooms and almost simulate a panoramic image. He also does this thing where he stretches out faces. So weird.

The Frame: Japan marks 6 months since earthquake, tsunami

Just wanted to share this interesting photo-illustrated story that Julia Sapin mentioned in her AH 271 class last week. There’s some great combination shots in here, documenting a specific scene right after the earthquake and tsunami hit and then the same shot taken three months later and finally, how the scene looks now. Check it out:
