Neat Empire State multiple exposure (I am still coming down from my NYC high). I had a difficult time finding the artist or anything about the piece, as is a common problem on tumblr these days. Regardless, it is an interesting use of layering and does a good job of distorting the original purpose of the building — to be the tallest sky scraper in NYC (can’t be the one tallest building if there are 10 of you).
I usually don’t go for this type of double exposure portraiture, but I very much appreciate the thought that went into creating these images. They aren’t just juxtaposed with random buildings, the artist used the buildings to create a new character outside of the portraits. From what I can tell he shoots them in-camera with a Mark iii — something I am currently exploring. Kudos, man.
This artist recreates his iphone shots as oil paintings on canvas. Talk about going beyond your vsco app. He turns these extremely below average shots into (in my opinion) beautiful paintings.
Just stumbled upon this… selling your iphone prints for upwards of $40. Part of me is angry, but part of me gives them props for thinking of a way to make such easy money.
Rachel Mantiri Double Exposures
This type of double exposure has been a bit done before, but I appreciate her exploration of different forms of exposures. They are very exploratory but seem to be thought out as well. A good intro into the basics of simple double exposures.
Incredible cross stitching on architectural and other photography. Much different than the other types of photograph embroidery I have seen. It creates such a space of anonymity, especially with the portraits.
