So the other day in class I could not remember this artists name but its Miru Kim. She studied biology at Columbia to become a doctor and eventually abandoned that track for art. She has very interesting ideas about humans and our relationship with our environment. She uses herself as a model in most of her work (brave soul..).
The 10th annual erotic art festival is going down in seattle in June. If you havnt been before you should definitely check it out! Its not only a great time full of quirky characters but theres always LOADS of fantastic (and some questionable) photography.

Hey everybody! Go take advantage of the awesome photo documentation op happening in the AW building this weekend. Do Ho Suhs Sculpture Cause and Effect is being installed on the 2nd and 3rd floors (by the sky bridge). Pretty awesome to see the process of installation. Also the artist himself will be here at 3pm June 8th for the dedication!
My roommate stumbled upon this photographer the other day. Thought she was pretty interesting. She also has some very in depth and personal descriptions of her bodies of work that make the photos themselves that much more intriguing.
Photography lost a legend last week with the death of Mr. Horst Faas (you may know him from his haunting photos of the Vietnam war). Heres an article from the New York Times including a brief bio and a few of his images.

Found some of this guy Neil Cravers work on a blog the other day. He’s done some pretty interesting projects. Lots of underwater nudes, bugs, long exposure night shots and some fashion/travel commercial stuff. Worth checking out.

Just read about this guy on No Caption Needed and am super tempted to try it out. Too bad most of our beaches are too rocky. Would be a cool idea to incorporate on a smaller scale into the “Body in Nature” project maybe…..
I’m sure a lot of you already know who Jerry Uelsmann is, but his work is fantastic and always worth checking out. All of his photo-manipulation is done in the darkroom (not photoshop) which makes it even more awesome.
