SARA has had three meetings so far, and each have held space for important conversations. Our first meeting was centered around the hxstory of white supremacy at WWU, as well as basic introductions and info about SARA. Our second meeting focused on cultural appropriation, and we talked about appropriation of food, clothing, music, art, and more. On Monday the goal is to open up a discussion about Standing Rock and how it is connected to other issues of sacred sites around the country, as well as how it is tied directly to white supremacy and to our community here in Bellingham.
