First steps: (Apply for Benefits)
You may receive Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) (Formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment) services to help with job training, education, employment accommodations, resume development, and job seeking skills coaching. Other services may be provided to assist Veterans and Service members in starting their own businesses or independent living services for those who are severely disabled and unable to work in traditional employment. WWU Veteran Services New Student Intake (After you have applied to WWU)
Once you have been accepted to WWU, we at the veteran services office ask you to submit our new student intake. This intake allows our office to obtain the necessary documents to process your benefits in a timely manner. Please see the application linked here: New Student Application | Veteran Services (wwu.edu) Be sure to include your VR&E counselors’ email when prompted.
How VR&E is Processed
After you have completed the new student intake, you will submit a certification request every quarter after you have registered for classes. From there, our office requires that your VR&E counselor issues you a separate billing authorization code for tuition, parking, and books.

- If the student is wanting a parking pass please issue a separate PO to the WWU SBO with the line item (one time miscellaneous fee-Parking)
- WWU’s Bookstore (for books and supplies) their vendor code is 91600056203. Email contact Veteran.services@wwu.edu
Certification of Your Enrollment
After our office has received your authorization codes, we will be able to certify your enrollment with the VA. This certification is needed to trigger the disbursement of your living stipend.
