Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Swan Lake is a gift of great drama, beauty, and technical feats. It demands production element excellence, and an ultimate A-game on the part of all the dancers. Highlights for me were Lucien Postlewaite’s supreme cool and clarity, ballon that soars, joyful largesse. The corps that swept across the stage, always breathtaking. Ezra Thomson bouncing on stage in character. Amanda Morgan’s beautiful long limbs and Smusicality. Leta Biasucci’s astounding balance, articulate, and breathy dancing, singular confidence. The overall effect is one of an ethereal, romantic space, in which lovers cradle one another amidst great anguish, passion, and sacrifice.
