This presentation examines the phenomenon of presenteeism in detail by exploring research and its challenges to date, the scope of the problem, COVID-19 and economic crises contexts for the problem, and empirical understandings of harms and potential solutions for the problem at multiple levels (employee, managerial, and organizational). Through the holistic and contextual research approaches described herein as well as the multi-tiered framework utilized, our presentation attempts to enumerate the problem of presenteeism in a comprehensive and communicative format that is accessible and useful for all potential audiences.
